To seize the opportunities arising from Asia-Pacific regional economic integration, deepen China-Thailand cross-border industrial collaboration, and help Shenzhen Longgang enterprises establish an efficient presence in Southeast Asian markets, the "Seizing the Benefits of Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation - Thailand-focused Matchmaking and Exchange Session for Longgang Enterprises" was successfully held on the afternoon of August 25 at the Fenglong Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Park in Longgang, Shenzhen.
The event was hosted by the Longgang District
Commerce Bureau, organized by the Shenzhen Qianhai Hong Kong Chamber of
Commerce, and co-organized by the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce in
Thailand and Shenzhen Longgang District Foreign Economic Development Co., Ltd.
Focusing on China-Thailand cross-border industrial collaboration and investment
opportunities, it created a cooperation platform for government-enterprise
engagement and business-to-business connections. Representatives of chambers of
commerce and associations, industry service providers, and dozens of leading
Longgang enterprises from both locations attended the event.
I. Focusing on Asia-Pacific Cooperation and China-Thailand
Industrial Collaboration
At the opening, representatives of the Longgang
District Commerce Bureau stated that Longgang will continue to expand
high-level opening up, improve its business environment, and actively support
enterprises in expanding internationally. Thailand is an important destination
for Longgang enterprises establishing a presence in Southeast Asia. The
exchange session was expected to further deepen practical cooperation in
industry, technology, and markets, and provide stronger service support for
enterprises expanding overseas.
Zhang Feng, Vice President of the Shenzhen
Qianhai Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, then shared insights on leveraging
Shenzhen-Hong Kong connectivity and strengthening cross-border resource
coordination. She expressed the hope of continuing to build bridges for
Shenzhen-Thailand economic and trade cooperation, creating conditions for more
enterprises to enter Thailand and ASEAN markets.
II. Official Briefing on Thailand Investment Policies and New
Cooperation Opportunities
During the investment-promotion session, Chen
Weili, Director of the Guangzhou Office of the Thailand Board of Investment
(BOI), delivered a focused presentation on Thailand's latest
investment-promotion policies. She introduced Thailand's investment-promotion
framework, development planning for the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC),
priority sectors, and investment incentive measures. In light of current
industrial-development priorities in Thailand, she also provided an
authoritative interpretation of the policy issues enterprises should consider
when investing in Thailand. The session helped participants gain a more
comprehensive understanding of Thailand's current investment policies and
provided an important reference for identifying industry opportunities and
planning overseas expansion.
In the thematic sharing session, Guo Ruoying,
Founding Partner of Starry Law Firm Thailand, provided a systematic
introduction to the key legal and compliance matters Chinese enterprises should
consider when investing in Thailand. The presentation covered Thailand's
foreign-investment regulatory framework, common investment pathways for Chinese
enterprises, investment-promotion policies, and key legal matters arising
during company establishment and operations. It helped enterprises better
understand Thailand's investment environment and compliance requirements,
providing professional reference for the sound planning of Thailand investment
strategies.
III. Deepening China-Thailand Cooperation for Steady Overseas
Expansion
In the final session, participating enterprises
exchanged in depth on investment policies, industrial cooperation, cross-border
finance, and legal compliance. They held face-to-face discussions with Thai
chambers of commerce and professional service providers, reaching a number of
preliminary cooperation intentions in a lively atmosphere.
Going forward, Starry Law Firm Thailand will
continue to leverage its integrated legal-service capabilities across China and
Thailand. Relying on its professional cross-border services team, the firm will
serve as a bridge for cross-border investment, promote China-Thailand economic
and trade cooperation, support the international development of Longgang
enterprises, and contribute professional expertise to the high-quality overseas
expansion of enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
