Time: 2026-10-08

On August 26, 2026, the Shenzhen Longhua·Thailand Economic and Trade Industry Matchmaking Exchange, part of the Asia-Pacific International Cooperation and Exchange series, was successfully held. Focusing on new opportunities for China–Thailand industrial cooperation, the event covered in-depth exchanges across key areas including cross-border manufacturing, the digital economy, cross-border e-commerce, new energy, modern agriculture, and cultural tourism services, serving as an important platform for investment cooperation, industrial synergy, and resource exchange between enterprises of the two regions.

Attorney Guo Ruoying, Founding Partner of Starry Law Firm Thailand, and Ms. Liu Jiaqi, Managing Partner of Starry Capital, were invited to attend and delivered dedicated presentations on legal compliance for enterprises investing in Thailand and on Thailand's industrial cooperation opportunities, respectively. From the perspectives of legal services, industrial research, and project implementation, they provided forward-looking yet practical professional references for Chinese enterprises planning to expand into Thailand.

I. Focusing on Investment Compliance: Providing Legal Support for Enterprises Expanding Overseas

During the presentation session, Attorney Guo Ruoying, Founding Partner of Starry Law Firm Thailand, spoke on "Key Legal Issues for Enterprises Expanding into Thailand." Drawing on the practical experience of Chinese enterprises investing in Thailand in recent years, she systematically introduced the overall legal framework for foreign investment in Thailand. Her presentation covered Thailand's foreign investment regulatory system, the Foreign Business Act (FBA), the Foreign Business License (FBL), the Foreign Business Certificate (FBC), BOI investment promotion policies, and common pathways for Chinese enterprises operating in Thailand. She also analyzed key issues such as company establishment, equity structure design, business license applications, and ongoing compliance management, in light of the legal risks commonly encountered in actual business operations. Attorney Guo noted that as more Chinese enterprises choose Thailand as a key investment destination in Southeast Asia, they should align business planning with legal compliance design from the project initiation stage, so as to enter the Thai market in a more prudent and efficient manner and achieve long-term, sustainable development.

II. Focusing on Industrial Cooperation Opportunities: Exploring New Space for Intelligent Equipment Expansion into Thailand

Based on long-term tracking research on Thailand's industrial development, Ms. Liu Jiaqi, Managing Partner of Starry Capital, spoke on "Cooperation Opportunities for Unmanned Systems and Intelligent Robots in Thailand." Focusing on three directions—agricultural drones, public safety drones, and quadruped robots—she provided an in-depth analysis of Thailand's actual market demand and potential cooperation space. Aligning with trends in Thailand's agricultural modernization, public safety development, and industrial automation upgrading, she examined the growing application demand for unmanned systems in agricultural aerial spraying, disaster rescue, patrol and monitoring, and industrial inspection. Ms. Liu noted that China and Thailand still have broad cooperation space in emerging industries such as intelligent equipment, robotics, and unmanned systems. Chinese enterprises can leverage their mature technological advantages and combine them with local industrial needs in Thailand to explore more diversified and in-depth cooperation models, achieving complementary strengths and common development.

Currently, China–Thailand economic and trade cooperation continues to deepen, with new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, the digital economy, and modern agriculture emerging as important growth poles for bilateral cooperation. Going forward, Starry will continue to deeply participate in China–Thailand economic and trade exchange activities, fully leverage the synergistic advantages of legal services and industrial resources, and provide more professional and efficient one-stop cross-border services for Chinese enterprises investing in Thailand, contributing further professional strength to the high-quality development of China–Thailand economic and trade cooperation.
